Beta version 404 of the upcoming 1.17 patch is now available on the Westfall gateway. This patch contains many bug fixes, balance changes, a couple new features, and two new Neutral Heroes!! You can connect to Westfall and participate in the beta test by connecting to Battle.net, then logging off and choosing Westfall from the Gateway selection screen. Please be aware that once you patch up to Beta 404 you will need to reselect Westfall from the Gateway selection screen. At any point you want to go back to playing 1.16 on the public gateways (Lordaeron, Kalimdor, etc.), simply choose the appropriate gateway from the Gateway selector screen and you will automatically be reverted back to version 1.16. We look forward to seeing you on the Westfall server!

Blizzard has just posted some replays of its Worldwide Invitational contest. Those replays are available through that link, don't hesitate to download them.

Straight from Korea come replays from the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational. In mid January, some of the best players from around the world met in Seoul to compete for huge prizes. Watch Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne played at the competition level by these players. We'll be releasing new replays over the next few days, so check back often.

Mike Huang, formerly of Blizzard but now of Castaway Entertainment sent word this evening that he has some collectable booty up for sale. Some of the items he's collected during his time at Blizzard are pretty rare and as fans you may be interested in placing some bids. You can spy on his doings at his personal blog site too.

The new Battle.Net mail system is now online for Diablo II and Warcraft III.

When you register your email address with your account, you can now use Battle.net Friend mail to send emails to your friends. Warcraft III clan members can also send Clan Mail to their whole clan! Players will have to enable mail access in order to receive mails.
